Varapodio returns to the Middle Ages with In the fantastic Middle Ages

Varapodio - In 2019 the first edition of an initiative was launched in Varapodio which, given the success, the mayor declared that he intends to replicate in the following years as well. Indeed, he has even stated that he plans to make it a regular date. The event took the title of 'In the fantastic Middle Ages' and transformed the city for two days into a medieval village, complete with a castle and figures in period costume.

It was not strictly a historical re-enactment, but rather a transfiguration of the medieval era in a fantastic and somewhat playful key. There was no shortage of flag-wavers, and groups specialized in this type of initiative such as the Compagnia del Gufo, coming from Sicily, have flocked. The large influx of people has shown how much the efforts made by the many volunteers have paid off. In addition to dances with animated choreography, there was no lack of gastronomic corners, always strictly in a medieval key.
