Tarquinia - In the Lazio Maremma and near the Tyrrhenian coast, the village is enclosed by walls and towers at 133 meters above sea level. The historic center contains religious buildings such as the Cathedral of Santa Margherita, in neoclassical style with the apse of Gothic architecture. Older is the convent of San Francesco, XIII-XIV century, with the Gothic-Norman church, which in the side aisles preserves the paintings by Del Massaro, the colonnaded kiosk and the well.

An Etruscan necropolis, rich in funeral gifts, was found on the Monterozzi hill in front of the 'Civita'. The city was inhabited by Etruscan aristocratic families, giving birth to the dynasty of the kings of Rome and the grave goods were particularly luxurious. In particular from the Tomba del Triclino, dated around 470-480 BC. C, and from the Tomb of the Leopards, decorated vases and statuettes were found. Unfortunately, due to the instability of the limestone rock, the frescoes, visible on the canvases in the Museum, have been detached from the latter. Staying here you can dedicate yourself to a seaside holiday, ideal for families, where the beach is sandy and slopes gently into the clear sea.
