Vicenza: the city of Palladio and palaces, rich in gastronomy not to be missed

Vicenza - Vicenza is an Italian city known for being a destination for cultural tourism thanks to the numerous works by Andrea Palladio, which earned it its inclusion in the UNESCO heritage list. Palaces, villas and gardens are the legacy left by the architect: the Palladian Basilica, Palazzo Barbaran Da Porto which is also home to the Museum dedicated to the artist, Palazzo del Capitanio, Palazzo Chiericati today home to the civic art gallery and many others.

The heart of the city street, Corso Palladio, full of shops and clubs, is also dedicated to man. This crosses with Corso Fogazzaro, dedicated instead to the famous writer from Vicenza, while Contrà Porti is scattered with numerous palaces of the Porti family, in one of which valuable works by Tiepolo are preserved. It is also a rich treasure trove of gastronomic culture and among the typical products we remember: Asiago cheese, soppressa (a salami), cod alla vicentina, Bigoi co 'dell'Arna (fresh pasta with duck sauce), and finally the Puttana cake.
