Climbing between ladders and ravines you can visit the ruins of the Abbey of San Basilio built by Ruggero the Norman. The Churches of Santissima Trinità and del Carmine are still visited with paintings by Subba and wall decorations in bright colors. Nearby is Pagliara. At the highest point of the village you can visit the church-fortress of San Sebastiano with the laces placed on the sloping roof. The Church was founded in the 8th century by monks who fled from Greece due to iconoclastic persecution. Inside, in fact, was kept the painting of the Madonna di Polimena which in Greek means, Icon of the Mother of God that had been lost.
