Walking through the squares and streets of Cosenza you will find other traces of its past. In piazza XV Marzo there is the statue dedicated to Bernardino Telesio, who gave prestige to the Cosentina Academy, giving the city the title of Athens of Calabria. In this same square there are some prestigious buildings, such as the Theater, the Library and the Civic Museum. A meeting place and seat of numerous events is the municipal garden, the Villa Vecchia. There are numerous churches dear to the Cosentini: the church of San Francesco d'Assisi, that of San Francesco da Paola and that of San Domenico. Works of art of great prestige can be found at the National Gallery and in the MAB, the open-air museum created with the sculptures donated by the collector Carlo Bilotti.
