Staranzano: a naturalistic paradise to be preserved and to be amazed by

Staranzano - Staranzano is a municipality in the province of Gorizia, in the heart of the Bisiacaria territory, which is a geographical area that extends between the Gulf of Panzano and the Isonzo river from its mouth to Sagradona. In the municipality of Staranzano there is the Natural Reserve of the mouth of the Isonzo river, in particular the Cona island, an area rich in nature and agriculture with marshes, reeds and many animal species.

It also represents a tourist attraction, with useful routes for its use to observe flora and fauna. It is one of the best Italian reserves for birdwatching, known internationally. The richness at a naturalistic level has led the institutions to create increasingly sustainable and nature-friendly ways of visiting with paths on foot or by bike to get to know the bathing area, the woods or the wetlands. Traditional event of the area is the Sagra de le Raze, born more than two hundred years ago, which involves the whole country. The Church of Saints Peter and Paul is the main place of worship in the area.
