The Easter nativity scene in Casaletto Ceredano

Casaletto Ceredano - In Casaletto Ceredano there is the tradition of making the nativity scene not only at Christmas, but also at Easter. Of course, it is a somewhat different nativity scene, which does not concern the nativity of Jesus Christ, indeed, it does not contemplate it at all. Instead, it is a series of 7 dioramas that depict as many salient scenes from the adult life of Jesus.

We thus find evangelical episodes such as the baptism in the water of the Jordan, the miracle of the resurrection of Lazarus, and then scenes of the Passion with prayer in the garden of the olive trees, the Last Supper, the scourging and the crucifixion. The last diorama finally depicts the resurrection of Jesus, with the angel announcing this event to the women who rushed to the tomb. Each scene is reproduced with minute care and with poor materials such as papier-mâché, wood and clay. Some volunteers who put their work at the service of the community are working towards the creation of these works of art, with the support of the Municipality of Casaletto Ceredano and Pro Loco.
