Barga - Barga is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, located in the province of Lucca, on Colle Remeggio, between the plain of Lucca and the Garfagnana area. It represents a tourist attraction on a historical and artistic level. It is a typical medieval village with narrow streets, uphill alleys, the entrance doors still well preserved and some historic buildings such as Palazzo Angeli, Palazzo Pancrazi or Palazzo Balduini, the latter linked to the Florentine de 'Medici family.

The hamlet of Castelvecchio di Barga is linked to the figure of the well-known poet Giovanni Pascoli who lived here for many years, until his death. He also dedicated a poem to the town, 'L'ora di Barga', which seems to have been inspired by the sound of the bell tower of the cathedral of San Cristoforo, the main place of worship in the village. The style of construction ranges from Romanesque to Gothic with a soaring and square bell tower, and interiors in marble. In the hamlet of Castelvecchio, on the Colle di Caprona, is the Pascoli house where the poet lived and died, which today is a house museum. Next to it the chapel where the remains of the poet are kept.
