Chiauci to discover

Chiauci - Chiauci is a small town in Molise in the province of Isernia; rises 868 meters above sea level and has 204 inhabitants. It is an ancient medieval village with its most important monument in the church of the Santissimo Rosario. The sacred building in fact houses an official copy of the Holy Shroud; considering that there are currently only five in the world, it is easy to understand the extraordinary importance of this find.

It was donated to the parish by the order of the knights of the sword and silence of Turin, and precisely by Arnaldo Di Lonardo, one of the affiliates, who was born in Chiauci. Another flagship of the village is the museum of peasant art where the various rooms of a typical house in the village are represented, the tool room used in the cultivation and breeding of livestock and period clothing. The New Year's Eve are also depicted, a typical local activity carried out by a group of people who on December 31 wander through the streets of the village bringing music and joy in exchange for hot wine and typical sweets.
