Maratea, between nature and culture

Maratea - Maratea is a municipality located in the province of Potenza, in Basilicata. In particular, it is a place that boasts wonderful natural landscapes, suitable for lovers of nature and above all of the sea. As we can admire in the shots, this place is a pearl set in the Gulf of Policastro and therefore overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Dominating the landscape is the crystalline sea enriched by the rocky cliff that surrounds the beaches.

Among the attractions that are shown to us are the Port of Maratea, Rivello, Lake Sirino, Sapri, the Black Beach, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, the center of Maratea, Lido Macarro, the Oasi Cascate Capelli and the beach of Castrocucco. Dry. One of the symbols of the town is the Statue of Christ the Redeemer which rises imposingly on Mount San Biagio, overlooking the historic center of the city and dominating the entire Gulf; it is 22 meters high and at its feet are the remains of the ancient city, known as the 'castle'. Maratea is also called the city of 44 churches as the historic center offers a large number of religious buildings such as the church of San Vito, the church of the Annunziata, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, or the wonderful Basilica of San Biagio la which rises on top of the homonymous mountain.
