Piazza Armerina, a pearl of Sicily

Culture Food and wine Practical information

Piazza Armerina - Piazza Armerina is a town located in the province of Enna, in the central-eastern part of Sicily. Its historic center is a small treasure trove of art in which Baroque and Norman styles intertwine. The tour that is proposed to us in the video starts from Via Roma from which it is possible to reach Piazza Garibaldi and already glimpse the dome of the Duomo.

(continues below the video)

Once in Piazza Garibaldi it is possible to admire the city palace and the church of San Rocco next to which there is a refreshment point with typical Sicilian cuisine. In via Cavour we find the signs for the various attractions of the city. Continuing along the characteristic streets of this village we find Piazza Fundrò and further on the Casale Museum. A little further on in Via Vescovado we find the Cathedral, a huge structure built between the 17th and 18th centuries, while next to it we find the Diocesan Museum. A few steps away we find the Palazzo Trigona della Floresta in front of which there is a particular sculpture also present in the municipality of Noto. A short refreshment stop is recommended to us at the Trattoria Pepito where it is possible to delight your palate with typical Sicilian dishes such as homemade pasta with eggplant.
