Via Paolo Costa is the main restaurant street of the city, here one after the other you can find many places where you can taste the typical dishes of the place. One of the most visited monuments is the tomb of Dante Alighieri; the sepulcher is in neoclassical style, built near the basilica of San Francesco and is a national monument around which an area of respect and silence called the 'Dante area' has been established. Inside the area there is the tomb of the great poet, the garden with the Quadrarco and the Franciscan cloisters that house the Dante Museum. An obligatory stop when going to Ravenna is Anna Fietta's shop and laboratory, where the most beautiful mosaics in the region are found. The Basilica of San Vitale is one of the most famous places of worship in the city whose works ended in 547 AD. C; the building combines elements of Roman architecture with Byzantine elements. From the main nucleus other bodies emerge: the lantern and the apse. The interior is entirely decorated with mosaics, arches, hand-carved columns and polychrome marbles. The Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo was named in the 9th century after the relics of the proto-bishop Apollinare were transferred to this church to be safe from pirates. The building with three naves has a semicircular apse inside and polygonal outside, like all the churches of Ravenna it has mosaic decorations depicting the life of Christ. The Arian Baptistery built in the 5th century was the baptistery of the ancient Arian cathedral, today called the Church of the Holy Spirit. It has an octagonal plan with upper arched windows, the bare and masonry interior has a baptismal font and a mosaic-decorated dome with the scene of Christ's baptism.
