The town hall is located inside an ancient convent which also houses the splendid Church of San Domenico and the Civic Museum. The strong religious identity of Taverna is also expressed in the patronal feasts in particular the Feast of San Sebastiano which takes place in October and the Feast of the Infant Jesus which is celebrated in January. Among the most important churches of the town we find that of Santa Barbara and that of Santa Maria which house valuable works by the aforementioned Mattia Preti. In the Sila area, the churches of San Giovanni Gualberto, Santa Maria degli Angeli and Santa Maria delle Nevi attract many faithful during the summer. Among the main gastronomic products we find sausages, eggs, nuts, homemade pasta that is eaten seasoned with local porcini mushrooms, bread and potatoes. Desserts such as pitta nchiusa, tart with sour cherries and bocchinotti are also delicious.
