Picco Circe - Monte Circeo is defined as anti-Apennine because, alone, it dominates the coast reaching a height of 600 m. Keeping in mind that the difference in altitude to be covered is harsh, reaching the lookout points is exciting, as you visit archaeological sites and conquer the panorama of the Gulf of Gaeta, the archipelago of the Pontine islands and, with a little luck, the Gulf of Naples.

Turning to the opposite side you can see the marinas of Sabaudia and the tombolo that separates the sea from the ponds of Capriolace, Lago di Paola and Fogliano. Cyclopean walls built dry by the Italics and ruins of the Roman temple are the sign of the fascination that the sharp and extraordinary mountain has exercised over time. The usual routes are well marked while a network of secondary and rocky paths climbs between the slopes and it is not recommended to venture there without a guide. Wild places inhabited since the Stone Age and full of charm and myth that inspired the narration of Ulysses and the sorceress Circe. In the town of San Felice you can learn more about the history of the settlements in the five rooms of the Municipal Museum.
