Larciano Catello and its medieval festival

Larciano Castello - The town of Larciano, in the province of Pistoia, is a town immersed in the greenery of the Valdinievole. It is divided into six hamlets, so that the impression one gets is that of a large inhabited center, completely immersed in the greenery of Monte Albano. The district of Larciano castello is one of the areas of greatest historical interest, also and above all because of the local castle, a fortified tower from the 10th century after Christ strengthened by a circle of walls more than a kilometer long.

The air you breathe here is full of an ancient atmosphere, coming from the past. An ideal moment for a visit is on the occasion of the so-called 'Medieval Festival' organized by the pro loco of Larciano: at this juncture it is possible to admire actors and participants in medieval costumes. Ladies, knights, nobles and minstrels, you are catapulted into another era, captured in the setting of a decorated village. The pivotal event of the celebration is the Palio De Lo Marzocco, during which the districts of the historic villages face off in games of medieval origin.
