Ischitella - Ischitella is a town of 4315 inhabitants in the province of Foggia in Puglia. The territory is located in the Gargano National Park and is part of the Gargano Mountain Community. The town is divided into two parts: the medieval one called 'Terra' and the nineteenth-century one called 'Ponte'. The church of SS. Annunziata, known as the church of the Crucifix of Varano built in the 10th century, is located on the shores of the lake on the site where the town of Bayranum was located in the 16th century, of which the walls and towers dating back to 1225 remain. Pietro Giannone contains the finds found on Mount Civita. The city is fully open to eco-sustainable, from separate collection to eco-sustainable fishing up to bike sharing. One of the most important events in the city is the 'National Competition of Poetry in the Dialects of Italy' which has been held in Ischitella since 2004. A typical object of the town is the cruedda, a characteristic basket that is stuffed using wheat straw. The basket is also tied together with linen and rush thread and covered with scraps of fabric; today it is only a decorative object while in the past it was used to transport bread, linen, etc. The economy of the city is based on agriculture specifically in the production of extra virgin olive oil.
