A short tour of Benevento

Benevento - Benevento is a Campania town of about 57,000 inhabitants, and is the capital of the province of Benevento which includes exactly 78 municipalities. This video offers an overview of the city and some of its most important places: the first is the Arch of Trajan, located at the beginning of the new Via Traiana to exalt the emperor from which it takes its name.

The route continues with the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Episcopio, with its Romanesque façade, and with Corso Garibaldi, close to the wonderful Duomo. Other places of interest are the Church of Santa Sofia and the Government Palace, seat of the prefecture and the Arcos museum, located right in Corso Garibaldi. Finally we mention Piazza IV Novembre, where the War Memorial and the Rocca dei Rectors are located, which stands at the highest point of the historic center of Benevento. The last stop of the author of the video is the fantastic Belvedere of Benevento, from which it is possible to enjoy the view of the entire town and the surrounding area, between natural and monumental landscapes.
