Lucca - Today we are in one of the most famous cities in Tuscany: let's go immediately to find out what Lucca has in store! The first thing we notice when arriving in the city is the vastness of the walls that still surround it today: most of the cities tear down their walls to make room for city traffic while Lucca continues to maintain them since in ancient times the investment in construction and the hard work brought the city a long period of independence.

The city, in fact, seems to us almost a paradox: it hasn't seen battles since 1430 and yet it retains the most powerful Renaissance wall in Europe. We arrive in the historic center and notice how a Romanesque-style church is born every corner. We continue along the main pedestrian street, Via Fillungo, where, in addition to admiring the elegant shop windows and historic shops, we glimpse the rich past of the city. The road leads us to Piazza Anfiteatro, built around an ancient Roman arena; although the latter has long since disappeared, its oval shape brings it back to mind. Another noteworthy square is Piazza San Michele, with very ancient roots. It has been home to the very famous Flower Market since ancient Rome. The square is dominated, however, by the Church of San Michele, above which we can admire the statue of the Archangel Gabriel flapping his wings as a sign of protection. Before saying goodbye to the city, let's visit the church that celebrates the music of Giacomo Puccini, composer from Lucca, the Church of San Giovanni. The evening concerts combined with the internal beauty of the Church, make the atmosphere incredibly wonderful.
