Discover Rogliano

Rogliano - Rogliano is a pretty village located in the province of Cosenza. Several etymological hypotheses on the name but all referable to a Latin matrix. Known for its many churches, Rogliano is strongly linked to its patron saints. In the heart of the historic center, in fact, stands the cathedral, dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, built in the sixteenth century, but totally destroyed by the earthquake of 1638.

It was later rebuilt in rich Baroque style and reopened to the faithful in 1717. The main bell is the only element recovered from the original structure. Not far away you can admire the historic Riciulli palace, one of the most significant buildings in the town. Splendid carved tuff portals frame the entrances of the other numerous places of worship that scatter the town. Bas-reliefs of intertwined cherubs and racemes translate religious symbols into art. Rogliano with its historical and religious heritage is a candidate as an ideal destination for the tourist who can get lost among its picturesque alleys and the colors of nature that peek out from its glimpses and panoramas.
