Scilla and Chianalea, among the wonders of the Reggio coast

Scilla - Today we are in the province of Reggio Calabria, in one of the most magical and touristic places in the region: Scilla. The town has about 5000 inhabitants and today we are going to visit the most characteristic area: Chianalea, a seaside village where the sea skims the typical old houses and the fishermen continue to carry out their activities of the past.

Walking through the alleys, we can in fact admire the small boats used by the sailors, on the edge of the wonderful coast. We continue our visit reaching the tip of the promontory where the castle of Ruffo di Calabria stands, used by the Etruscans and fortified by the Greeks. We note how the Castle has various panoramic views from which it is possible to admire the spectacular Chianalea and the Marina Grande, the long beach attached to the village which, in summer, fills the bathing establishments with bathers. Before saying goodbye to this wonderful seaside village, full of scents and the sound of the sea wind that gets stuck between the small houses, we stop to enjoy good fish on the typical platforms.
