Montignoso. - On the slopes of the Apuan Alps and near the sea, there is the village enclosed between the cultivated countryside and the wet area of the lake. From here you can take the path towards Massa or go up in the Apuan woods. Some springs form the pond that laps the Montignoso stream and the Versilia river, creating a natural oasis for many species of migratory birds.

In the shadow of the Alders and Willows, we can get to know the colors of the Red Herons, the Coots, the Castagnolo Forapaglie, the Marsh Harrier and the rare Bittern. Some grasses in association with the rushes form wet areas near the lake that are home to some tortoises, the green frog and the tree frog.
