Ripe San Ginesio - With one foot in the past and a straight and open gaze into the future, the village is located in the hinterland of Macerata. The Picenes settled here in pre-Christian times and later the village was annexed by the ancient Romans, in the Urbisaglia area. The houses on the hill escaped the barbarian invasion and the village maintained its small autonomy even under the Principality of Camerino, until the Prontaguerra Counts ceded the steep town on the heights, Ripe, to San Ginesio.

The annexation did not go down to the slopes that attempted a rebellion in 1350 and another at the beginning of the 1500s, which lasted between conflicts, 10 years. The Rocca at the top of the town was built in honor of lost independence. The defensive character of the village is reflected in the spiraling urban structure, tangled in alleys, stairways, caves and squares, typical of Macerata. Ripese pride has been catapulted from the Middle Ages to the contemporary, welcoming installations placed along the streets and the belvedere. Bas-reliefs by Del Bianco, bronze or wooden sculptures by Pier Marini, Ferretti, Amadio, Rigi, Craia, Beschi, Bompadre, Sguanci, Loveglio and Rotundi, decorate the walls or are displayed on pedestals in the parvises and terraces, opening the journey to destinations imaginary and of great spiritual vocation.
