Tirolo, an alpine village to be discovered

Tirolo - We are in the heart of South Tyrol, in an alpine location nestled between the peaks surrounding Merano: today we are going to discover Tyrol. We reach Tirolo, from Merano, taking the chairlift: it is in fact the most practical way to reach the alpine village. Peculiar is the air that one breathes from the meeting of the two cultures; harmoniously, the Italian culture is linked to the Austrian one, establishing the history of Tirolo.

Symbol of Tyrol and home to the magnificent provincial museum, let's visit the Tyrol Castle, seat in 1200 of the Lords of Tyrol. Here, among vast noble rooms, narrow and hidden corners you can learn about the history of South Tyrol from the stone age until today. Between the Castle and the town center we take the opportunity to take the 'Knappenloch' walk with a panoramic view of the castle, passing through the stone tunnel carved in 1682 and about 100 meters long. Still cannot miss a visit to the Burglehen park, at the entrance to Tirolo, where we can admire the majesty of the flora and fauna that populate this wonderful village.
