Around Rome

Villa Gregoriana - Tivoli - In the video we are guided to discover one of the most spectacular attractions that can be visited around our capital, the mistral Villa Gregoriana, located in Tivoli, just 30km from Rome. At a height of 80 meters we are shown the waterfall with its tunnels, built at the behest of Pope Gregory XVI to avoid the dangerous floods of the river.

Continuing the tour, we enter Manlio Vopisco's house, of which a sort of cave remains with a roof at least 5 meters high. Later we can admire the Devil's Valley, at the top of which we find the Temple of Vesta which is 2200 years old, and around which Tivoli is built; next to the temple there is a restaurant with a view of the falls. The view of the falls is very deep, just think that all this natural heritage was bombed in the First World War, and rediscovered only in the 2000s thanks to an intervention by the FAI. Subsequently we enter the Grotta delle Sirene and crossing a tunnel we reach the Grotto of Neptune until we reach the Temple of Vesta from which we can admire the 10 remaining columns. At the end of this little tour, we go to Castel Vorturno to taste a good sandwich.
