The wild nature of Dorgali

Dorgali - Dorgali is a town in the province of Nuoro. Its territory is made up of limestone reliefs that drop sheer to the sea and form narrow valleys called codule. Suggestive are the Boschi di Ghivine and Suttaterra which, thanks to the particular humid climate, favor the presence of holm oak trees which, with their shade, cover the moss on every surface.

From the town of Cumbita Prantas you can leave for a nice hike through the wild vegetation to get to the top of the Supramonte. Along the way you will encounter puddles of water and as you go up in altitude the ground becomes full of pebbles which make walking more difficult. Finally we arrive on the mountain ridge where the natural arch of Suttaterra is present. In this place you can enjoy a spectacular view over the whole surrounding area and forget about the effort made to get here. Going back you can admire the cuiles that is the ancient mountain sheepfolds built by local shepherds.
