Cascia - In Cascia the cultivation of saffron, which was once typical of the place but which had been forgotten for centuries, has revived in the last 20 years. For the same time, the Saffron Market Exhibition has been held in the town every year. In this event all the products that are made using saffron are presented. Obviously, this spice is not lacking in purity, but there are also biscuits, honey, liqueurs.

Not only that: the exhibitors obviously also sell other local specialties, meats and cheeses that do not fail to conquer tourists. The 2021 edition was of particular interest due to the fact that it marked the restart after a year of pandemic and related restrictions. The municipal administration is focusing heavily on saffron to assist in an overall revival of the territory from a tourist point of view. In fact, if the cultivation of spice has now resumed at full speed, placing itself alongside more classic crops such as spelled or lentils, it is however necessary to implement communication on its qualities, as saffron is not only good but also good.
