The wonders of Mount Amiata

Nature Curiosities

Monte Amiata - With 'Monte Amiata' we mean a mountain group made up of an ancient extinct volcano. The hot waters of the thermal baths descend from it. The largest beech forest in Italy is located around the summit of the mountain; it is therefore not surprising the large number of hiking trails that run through the area. The Path of the Mine, the S. Antonio Path, the Cipriana Path and the Capomacchia Path are paths that allow you to admire (both on foot and by bicycle) the immense naturalistic qualities of the place. The mountain is the birthplace of an IGP product, the extraordinary chestnut from Monte Amiata, available in three varieties: brown, cecio and red bastard.
