Nature
Bussi sul Tirino - Bussi sul Tirino is a splendid village of 2,800 inhabitants located within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, in the province of Pescara. A building of great historical importance is the Sutrium Watchtower with its unique triangular plan. (continues below the video)
Among the religious buildings it is worth visiting the Church of Santa Maria di Cartignano dating back to the 11th century. Very beautiful is also the small church of San Lorenzo which houses a bas-relief and a sculpture of the Madonna and Child found during the restoration work of the aforementioned Church of Santa Maria di Cartignano. Suggestive is the historic center with its narrow streets and its monumental buildings such as the Medici Castle and the Church of San Biagio. Not far from here is the magnificent Church of Santa Maria al Ponte which preserves precious frescoes inside. The town is famous for the production of hand-painted pottery by local artisans. The presence of waterways has given rise to a chemical industry in Bussi which employs many citizens.
