Villages of Italy: Letino

Letino - The visit of the Italic villages is perhaps one of the best activities to do on holiday if you want to disconnect from the routine of the city and immerse yourself in new, special places rich in history, culture and traditions. If you want to go to southern Italy, Letino in the province of Caserta with its little more than 650 inhabitants is the perfect place.

The village develops around the parish of San Giovanni Battista, inside which it is possible to admire the statue of the saint made entirely of wood from a single piece, which was restored in the 70s / 80s. As is well known, the south is synonymous with good food and even in Letino there is no shortage of typical and delicious dishes such as taglioline with beans, polenta seasoned with minced pork and sausage, 'cavati' (as they are called in area) known more commonly as gnocchetti, the potatoes grown in the place are used in recipes accompanied for example by beans, and finally, liqueurs such as fragolini and currant cannot be missing. Letino is the perfect place to enjoy southern Italy in peace.
