Villa dei Papiri

The holiday farm “Villa dei Papiri” is an old Sicilian house dating back to the 19th century. It dominates a 13 hectares area rich in plantations of lemons and oranges and surrounded by papyrus plants, palms, olive, almond and carob trees, cypress, bonsais as well as other wonderful Mediterranean plants. It is located 5 kms away from Syracuse, inside the Natural Reserve of the River Ciane & Saline.

The holiday farm Villa dei Papiri dominates over 13 hectares’ land and produces annually more than 100,000 kgs of quality certified organic oranges and lemons, as well as seasonal tasty vegetables.
The ancient farm dating back to the 19th century has completely been renovated in 2008 respecting the original architecture of the period and maintaining the charm and taste of our history.
It can accommodate up to 55 people and it is divided into a central villa with eight large and comfortable family suites and three annexes called "Dependances" a few steps away with 16 comfortable double rooms.

Where We are

The entrance to Villa dei Papiri is located in front of the Source Cyane (Fonte Ciane), in the Natural Reserve of the river Ciane. Follow signs to FONTE CIANE and arrive at Villa dei Papiri.
From Catania-Siracusa and Gela-Siracusa highways: Exit to SIRACUSA (sud) and go towards the city center.
At the first traffic light turn immediately on the right into Contrada Dammusi, find the next roundabout and turn right to Canicattini (SP14). After only 200 ms, there is another roundabout and you have to turn to the second exit on the right and take the "Contrada Cozzo Pantano" by following the signs to Fonte Ciane and Villa dei Papiri: continue for another 2 kms and turn left to Traversa Pisima until you find the Fonte Ciane and the entrance gate to the Villa.
