The apartment is inside a former convent, which makes the entire setting charming. For the exclusive use of guests, a balcony in front of the double entrances of the apartment, useful in case we expect you are guests sleeping in separate rooms, each enjoying their own privacy.
About the area
Via Rastello is among the most characteristic areas of the city, the beating heart of the city's commerce of the medieval era. Walking down Via Rastello, you will feel immersed in a distant past that dates back to the 1300s. And, in fact, it was so named, during the Middle Ages, because of the rake shape of the gate that at night separated the village born around the Castle from the surrounding countryside.
From Via Rastello you can easily reach key points of Gorizia: Piazza Vittoria and its St. Ignatius Cathedral with its characteristic onion domes, Piazza SantAntonio, a true open-air living room with its splendid colonnade and the Lantieri Palace. And, again, the Cathedral of Gorizia, the Porta Leopoldina, from which one enters the Borgo Castello. Equally easily accessible are the Corso Verdi, public gardens, historic villas, places full of special charm, typical of a Mittleuropean city, so much so that in the second half of the nineteenth century, the German painter and sculptor Max Klinger, defined Gorizia, already known by the nickname of Austrian Nice, as the most beautiful open door to Italy.
Just a few kilometers away, you can enjoy some healthy relaxation amidst the greenery of the Collio Friulano and, perhaps, take advantage of the many wine and food tours organized in the renowned wineries that make it a must for those visiting these areas.
