In the seventeenth century the processing of silkworms began and it was precisely in the Arzano plant that the Bolognese mill was tested, a machine powered by the canalization and use of water. The Royal dell'Artugna is the most important artificial watercourse that carries water to the bronte mill; it was built at the end of 1600 with the aim not only of running the mill but also of an aqueduct. Various naturalistic itineraries have been set up by the municipality in recent years and has made a series of paths accessible, such as the Gor path, the San Tomè path, the path around the Artugna and the itinerary of the Santa Lucia hills. In the hamlet of Dardago, the parish church of Santa Maria Maggiore is very fascinating, built towards the end of the 13th century. Inside there are eighteenth-century marble altars. The church of Santa Lucia al Colle, built around the sixteenth century in a classic and essential style, preserves a fresco by Tolmezzo from 1507 inside. The courts and squares of Budoia form a unique network characterized by the presence of stone. Every year we celebrate the mushroom festival which is linked to the day of the environment and has the task of promoting initiatives related to the protection of the planet, the knowledge and promotion of mushrooms and the gastronomy of typical products. There are numerous activities that revolve around the world of mushrooms from the stands where you can buy the product and taste it, exhibitions dedicated to the world of mushrooms located at the elementary school gymnasium which every year activates millions of visitors. The march of mushrooms is very popular and is divided into three routes: the 6 km yellow one, the 12 km red one and the 25 km blue one. The routes are divided between asphalted roads and wooded paths.
