Pizzo - Known for the production of a delicious dessert, the Pizzo truffle, the town of Pizzo Calabro in the province of Vibo Valentia is a coastal village perched on a promontory near the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia. The building is of medieval origins and can be visited today, it houses an exhibition dedicated to Murat and a part of a sculpture by Antonio Canova. In the upper part there are many viewpoints where you can admire the fine sandy beaches and crystal clear sea that attracts many visitors every summer. The main church is the Mother Church of San Giorgio where the tomb of Murat and a prestigious statue of Christ by Bernini are kept. Very characteristic is the small church of Piedigrotta in the locality 'la Madonnella'. It is a place of worship entirely excavated in the sandstone rock built to thank God for salvation by two Neapolitan sailors.
