Averara: ancient village immersed in the nature of the Brembana Valley
Nature Culture Practical information
Averara - Located in a side valley of Val Brembana, Averara is a Bergamo town surrounded by nature. It is one of the most fascinating villages of the Italian peninsula, consisting of several residential areas and hamlets such as Valmoresca, Piazzola, Costa and Redivo. The mountain is the centerpiece of the town and many people leave it during the day to work in the large neighboring cities, only to return in the evening. (continues below the video)
The village is full of arcades, where long ago the wayfarers coming from the San Marco pass passed and stopped for refreshment. The arcades retain their ancient charm with frescoes from the 1700s, and walking through them allows the visitor to reach one of the major places of worship, the church of San Giacomo with numerous sacred canvases inside. The village is also known for the presence of a company that produces natural cosmetics and medicinal herbs, a partly spontaneous gift of nature. From here there are numerous paths that allow the visitor to visit the Orobie and enjoy the wonderful spectacle of the surrounding nature.
